Treasurer's Report

Ron reported that the club started the year with £266 and finished with £259.  No change was proposed to the subscriptions.

We have paid for public liability Insurance until the end of March, but Barham Church need paying for the night of 6 February 2008.

Future of the club

The decreased numbers of the club prompted a discussion of it's future.  A number of possibilities were discussed and the following strategy was decided on.

¨      We will delay the March Meeting

¨      Jon Davey agreed to contact the Iceni Computer Club, with a view to as many as possible of us joining them for their March Meeting

¨      As many as are able will go to the Iceni Computer Club March Meeting

¨      We will all meet up either at :

The Angel (Bramford) on 11 March,

or at :

Barham Church on 13 March

to decide if we want to merge with the Iceni Computer Club.

¨      If we decide to remain separate, we will still have time to renew our public liability insurance in time for the April 2008 meeting, and follow our own programme.

Attachment 1 - Chairman's Remarks

As elected Chairman of our Club, I would like to thank people for their help and support during the year.  In no particular order but in order of importance:

Rebecca and Wendy for their catering services

Ron for his financial management

Matt for his projector and IT advice

Ken for his organisational hard work, uploading and maintaining the website

and to all those who have contributed to the talks throughout the year and everybody who has attended and given the club their continued support.

I hope everybody enjoyed the meal, it was a very enjoyable occasion as usual.  Thank you.

With regard to the cost of running the club I am well aware that it was not a popular decision to charge an annual subscription for club membership but I believe that it was the best way to enable the club to continue.

While membership and attendance has fallen, this is as much I believe due to ill health and chronological challenge than cost, and to those of us who have lost family and friends in the last year our thoughts are with you.

And finally, the judging of the photo competition has been postponed until Matt returns with the projector, hopefully, next month.

I would now like to ask Ken and Ron to provice us with the good and bad news and the club prospects for the next twelve months and preside on Ken to organise the remaining order of proceedings for this evening.
